Are we too overwhelmed to prioritize success?

Are we too overwhelmed to prioritize success?

Success is defined by how much effort, mindset, and dedication you put in to get the best results. Many people are so unhappy that they are not as successful as they have imagined. It is due to the lack of discipline and consistency in work and the result of a poor mindset. The key to success is in our hands.

Success arrives only at the hands of those who prioritize it. We spend our time and energy unnecessarily on others things and make other things the top priority. But if we want success, prioritizing it is the key.

But…

Having said that, we need to prioritize it, doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with sacrificing our basic needs, relationships, and the little moments in life.

Why are we overwhelmed by prioritizing success?

There are many reasons why a person may not prioritize success. There is a reason behind the overwhelm. You may subconsciously be avoiding prioritizing and working on your success because

  • You may deeply fear success.
  • You need to be more active to prioritize and take action toward your goals.
  • You need more time to be ready to embody the successful version of yourself.

Ways to prioritize success

There are ways if you are finding it challenging to prioritize success. Below are the three ways you can prioritize success above everything.

1. Have fewer priorities

More priorities are equal to no priorities at all. Keep fewer priorities in life so that you can laser focus on them. More priorities require more energy, and humans’ bodies are not designed to multi-function. Have top 5 priorities and are determined to work to achieve them.

2. Use the Eisenhower matrix

The Eisenhower matrix is a visual representation of rows and columns that helps us to determine the priority tasks we’ve got to work on.

  • If the task is important and urgent – do it.
  • If the task is important but not urgent- schedule it.
  • If the task is not important but urgent- delegate it.
  • If the task is neither important nor urgent- delete it.

Prioritize your tasks by filling this up and watch how everything gets easy.

3. Be strict yet flexible with your time

The value of your time is precious. And do ot waste it doing something unimportant. Mindless scrolling of social media and loose talks all drain your energy and leaves you feeling creepy. So be strict about where you spend your time. Be aware and ask yourself, “Is the work I’m doing now taking me closer to my goals?” be mindful of your time.

4. Prioritize success by prioritizing health

We often drown in the obsession with success and start losing ourselves. Never compromise your health for anything, be it physical or mental. Maintain physical and mental hygiene and practice the habit of eating clean. What you consume sets the tone for the rest of the day. Success never helps you to get back your health, but health helps you to enjoy success.

Finally, don’t be hard on yourself. You are not defined by success. Have patience. Consistent effort towards your goals takes you to success!
