Sometimes, due to wear and tear performance issues, the enterprise has to change the hardware. Sometimes, new generation software requires upgradation in processors and operating systems.
The cost of desktops and workstations has increased significantly in the last five years. Also, they are highly depreciated assets with minimum resale value. A good desktop with windows 11 for typical usages like Office, Email, and Internet costs approximately 30,000 INR and a suitable workstation for Solidworks and AutoCAD kinds of software costs 90,000 INR. The upgrade cost for a model 25 users network, could be anywhere between INR 7,50,000 to INR 22,50,000.
When the computer is used for many years, its hard disk deteriorates. That is the main reason the computer slows down. Sometimes the processor is not compatible with running Windows 11. There is an idea of procuring compatible processors with Windows 11 in the resale. Further, a PC can be assembled with an SSD hard disk to boot and a new hard disk to store the data. Compatible high-capacity RAM can also be assembled in the processor procured in resale. It can perform a new computer with upgraded windows 11 operating system. The addition of new components like Harddisks can extend the life of the computer.
Procuring a 2-year-old processor installed in a cabinet (eligible for windows 11), adding SSD for booting, and adding a new HDD and RAM can save immense costs without compromising the computer’s performance.
